ok so i am new to this.. I just need some reassurance or just someone to talk to i guess, cause im freaking out. My boyfriend and i had sex last night. I am on birth control pills, im on the first week of my second pack. Before that i was on the patch. He barely put it in maybe for like a couple min or so, but there was no condom he kept telling me he was no where near close and that i had nothing to worry about. He is a great guy. I guess im just worried something might have happened??

Did you start the pill right after your last patch, without any interruption? If so, you can be pretty sure that you had continual protection from birth control.

If you took a break between the two, it's hard to gauge where you were at in terms of effectiveness of your pill. In that case, you can assume the effectiveness of withdrawal (since that's essentially what you did), which is around 96% effective with perfect use.

You do want to keep in mind that unprotected genital contact can also pose STI risks, so if you haven't been tested recently, you'll want to take care of that.
