i have gotten a yeast infection before from gettin soaking wet at an amusement park and not having any extra clothes. my mom explained it was because of the moisture and wet pants. i also heard that having water up inside is not good either. my boyfriend wants to have sex in the shower and or bathtub and im concerned about gettin another yeast infection, uti, both or some other kind of infection. whats the health risks is any? pros and cons of shower sex? thank you for any help!

If you make sure not to get soap inside of you and make sure to dry off afterwards I think you should be fine...

I've found actually using a blow dryer on my vulva after baths (sometimes bubble baths give me infections) helps prevent them as well.

The main problem I've had with shower sex is all the lubrication (natural and bottled) washes away! Water is actually not very slippery.

Just to also be clear, moisture doesn't actually cause yeast infections, which begin inside the body, not outside, It can just make getting an infection more likely because it creates an environment in which that area of your body is more challenged in fighting off an infection or imbalance.

For sure, it's not sound to put water into the vagina, but sex with a partner isn't likely to do that.

Like KatWA said, lubrication can tend to be the trickiest issue (and not falling down!), and that's especially important with condom use so they don't fail, so you do have to be a little more mindful about lube and may need to reapply more than on dry land, as it were.

Do not have sex in the tub. Women in general should take showers rather than baths. There is an increased risk of yeast infections when you take baths. And as far as sex in the shower, you will experience a decrease in normal lubrication because of the water washing it away. Trust me, It wont be as pleasurable as in dry environments, like a bed.
