Hello all. I've not been around here for about a year.

My girlfriend's been taking the BC pill consistantly for about 6 months and a few days ago she missed a day, but carried on as normal.

Is she protected if we have sex this week?

Did she take her missed pill when she realized she missed it?

I'm not asking if she continued taking the rest of her pills, but also if she took THAT pill she missed when she knew she missed it.

If she DID take that missed pill when she missed it, it's unlikely that the effectiveness of the pill has been decreased.

But if she just plain skipped it, or threw it out, then it'd be best to use a backup method until she begins her next cycle of pills.

And for future reference for her, if she misses a pill on a given day, the right thing to do is to take that pill as soon as she realizes it was missed, AND to keep taking the rest of her pills on schedule.
