I've been taking the Pill for three or four months now.I take it for period cramps but lately its starting to lose effect on me.
Now usually my cramps are so bad that I cant walk and so I miss ot on school and parties and family events and basically it interferes with my life.
Is it possible for the Pill to actually stop working?..I mean, can it actually lose effect or is it possible that a change in my lifestyle has caused it to stop working?Could I have grown immune to it?And if so..would starting a new type of Pill work on my cramps?
I've tried all sorts of painkillers other than the Pill and it seemed to be the only one that worked against these extreme cramps.
Any answers or tips on how to ease these cramps would be VERY much appreciated.
Thank you.

Nope, there's no way the pill can just 'stop working'. There are things that can interfere with the hormones and temporarily compromise the protection (such as certain antibiotics), but so long as you take the pill consistently and as directed, you'll be protected.

The pill can help to ease menstrual pain and they are sometimes prescribed for this purpose. Did your doctor do a thorough check-up to look for possible causes of your painful periods? If they didn't, or if they did and treatment with the pill is simply not working for you, it's time to head back to the doc's to have them take a closer look.

yes he did a check up with me and he thinks the only reason the cramps are so bad is because i have a family history of extremely heavy periods.
thanks i will go back for another check up and see what the problem is.
