Have you guys heard of the male contraceptive pill ? Is it already on the market ? I don't think so but I want to make sure.

The pill contains desogestrel, a synthetic hormone that is the main component in the female pill, as well as the male hormone testosterone. This combination blocks the production of sperm while maintaining male characteristics and sex drive.

In terms of effectiveness, the male pill seems to be the best. It's supposed to be 100 % effective. Last research show it's more 99 % effective though. It must be taken daily also.

There was a company (don't remember its name) who was supposed to release its pill in 2005. But I guess they are still doing research before releasing it.

Thanks. But they're from 2000 and 2002. But I bet the pill isn't out yet.

I did a little research and here's what I found.

quote:
A recent conference on the subject of male contraceptives, held in Seattle in September of 2004, confirmed this timeframe. Dr. William Bremner, a specialist in the field for 30-odd years, projected wide release of a male contraceptive method within five to seven years.
So it seems like it's not out yet. Thanks anyway.
