I was resing some of the other posts and I came across this as a reply to a question : we're talking pre-ejaculate, not a full ejaculation, I'd clock this risk as mild to moderate. That statemen was originally posted by Miz Scarlet. Does this mean that the chances of pregnancy are lower with pre-cum than just regualar ejaculation or what? Can someone explain? Thanks in advance!

Basically, it only takes one sperm to create a pregnancy--and pre-cum has the chance of containing sperm. There's no real way to tell if it does or does not contain sperm, which is why it's a pregnancy risk. It's also an STD risk.

Does that help?

It takes thousands, each sperm has a enzyme on there head that assists in breaking down the protective layer on the egg. Even though it takes one egg to fertilise it takes many millions for there to be a chance of the needed amount to reach the egg.

You're 'splitting hairs' here. The point is that you don't count the sperm in order to calculate a pregnancy risk. Even a little bit of sperm can result in a pregnancy.
