Hi all,

For the past few months, I've noticed some weird changes in my vaginal lubrication. I want to note that I'm using the word lubrication because it's only unusual during sex or masturbation, and I've noticed no changes in day-to-day discharge. Anyway, my lubrication has become very thick, basically like goop. Then, it quickly becomes gritty, leaving grainy white flakes all over my skin and the sheets.

Does anyone have any idea if this is a problem, and if so, what might be causing it? My annual gyno exam is coming up soon so I'll bring it up then, but I'm fairly positive that I am STD-free. Could this denote some sort of infection, or a larger problem? The only other thing that might be of use is that I first noticed the changes around the time I started using a new vibrator, although I don't know if that's at all relevant. Thoughts?

Thank you!

You might have some sort of bacterial or fungal infection, though it's impossible for us to say.

The best bet is to just talk to your doctor about this.
