My girlfriend and I had sex the other day, and I am really worried. We used a condom, but she isn't on birth control. Normally, I wouldn't be so worried because we are always safe, but this time, I cummed a little into the condom. I quickly pulled out once this happened.

So my question... Should I be worried about this? My girlfriend says we are safe, but I'd like a second opinion.

Thank you in advance.

Hello, Shephard, and welcome to Scarleteen.

Assuming that the condom did not break and was used properly during intercourse, I would say you're fine. The condom is designed to contain a man's ejaculate during sexual contact, so long as
  • it was put on properly
  • it was used before the expiration date
  • it had no holes or other perforations that would otherwise cause semen to leak out
  • it was not re-used from a previous sexual encounter

If it would help you further, I've attached a link to one of our resources here in Scarleteen regarding condom usage basics; you can compare how you did to the instructions/guidelines given and perhaps see whether or not you still have anything to worry about. Consider it a third opinion. [Smile]

Hope this helps.
