Ok, I am currently switching over from NuvaRing to Quasense (the generic form of Seasonel). I started taking the new pill on the same day I would ordinarily insert my new ring. Whenever I've switched birth control methods in the past, I was told they would be effective starting immediately if I took them in this way, so I had sex with my boyfriend without thinking about it. He did not ejaculate in my vagina, but did insert himself right after ejaculating, so there was some exposure. This morning I was reading the more detailed information on Quasense, and it said that I should use a back-up method for the first week of taking the new BC-- which I did not do. Do I need to get myself some emergency contraception?

Have you talked to your doctor or pharmacist yet? They would be the best to instruct you on whether or not you really needed to use that back-up for the week.
