Last weekend, I went camping and left my purse in the car. My purse contained my birth control pills. It was fairly hot out. I'm scared the heat damaged my pills. They were never in the direct sun light but the vehicle got hot.

How hot is hot? If you think the car got over 120 degrees F (50ish celsius), I'd suggest getting a new pack of pills.

You can always call your pharmacist to check in, too.

In the instructions that come with the pills say that you need to store it in 15-30 degree celsius. Does that mean prolonged exposure?

Generally going a bit outside the recommended temperature range isn't a significant problem. But given how hot cars can get if parked in the sun, I do think its best that you check in with your pharmacist or prescribing doc and back up with another method in the mean time.
