Hello,

I just recently had my period after it was 4 weeks late. It was normal .. 4 to 5 days long and was the usual flow. It started on the evening of the 13th very lightly then kicked in full force in the morning on the 14th. It seemed like it stopped the actual flow on the 18th like normal. However, every day since then I've experienced some spotting after the first significant movement I make, usually in the late morning. Like yesterday I walked outside to the barn and then spotted. Today I spotted after walking/jogging a mile. I only spot after this time then it is done until the next day. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Are you all up to date with your general sexual healthcare, like pap smears and STI testing? If so, how recently?

Hi Farmgirl,

Are you on any type of hormonal birth control? I ask because spotting can be a side effect of many of those.

No birth control, haven't had sex in over a year. I'm 19 and I haven't had any other problems except this one. I was super stressed with finals and everything and my period started the day after I took my last final. I haven't been to a doctor besides a heart specialist in years.

So, no sexual healthcare at all, ever, or since the last time you were sexually active?

If not, then you are overdue for that anyway, and I would say that this would be a good time to get that preventative care started, or pick it back up. And then you can also ask about this, and your doctor can look into it if they think it is anything to be concerned about.

Hi farmgirl,

I think a good first step may be to schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider, as they may be able to tell you what the source of the spotting is.

Local doctor's office .. I doubt I will be able to get in within the next two weeks, though.

You also do have some sexual/ reproductive clinics in Indiana, including Planned Parenthood branches.
