Okay last night me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex for the second time. The first time we had sex I was bleeding after so I went to the gynecologist and found out I had BV. ._. Not cool but took the medicine and got on birth control last week. Anyways this last night after we were done having sex when he pulled out he was covered in my blood. There was blood everywhere and I'm not a virgin. I'm not really sure what's going on now? The only thing is he was kinda rough with it last night. But it shouldn't have been that much blood. Any ideals what could be happening?

Hi Cjhoops,

Did you talk with your doctor about when it would be okay to resume genital sexual activity after the bacterial vaginosis treatment? I ask because if your vagina was still irritated or inflamed in any way, that could be a reason for the bleeding.

You also mentioned that you started birth control last week. What form of birth control are you using?

The fact that the intercourse was rough could also be the cause, or at least a contributing factor. Vaginal tissues are really delicate, and it doesn't take much to cause abrasions.

Do you use a lubricant? lubricant, or lube, can help prevent too much friction, which in turn prevents abrasions and irritations.

I also want to check in with you about whether both you and your boyfriend are up-to-date on your STI testing.
