Hi there.

My boyfriend and I had sex about 2 weeks ago. We used a condom, but I ran out of pills a few days before hand and only started taking them again about 2 days after sex. There were no breaks or leakages in the condom, we checked.

Recently (the past 5 days) I've been waking up nauseaous with a terrible headache, and the pain doesn't subside during the day, it never stops. I also can't drink water without throwing up. I'm supposed to start my period in 2 days, but I haven't had any of my usual symptoms. I'm very worried that I'm pregnant. What are the chances of this? I'm having full blown panic attacks at the thought of it. Would a pregnancy test be accurate about now?

hi Sarah,

We talked in your last post about when pregnancy tests are accurate. Can you take a look back there to check on that, please?

I also want to check in with you about whether you ever talked with your Mom about the panic you've been having. if so, how did that go for you?

There are other reasons for nausea and headaches besides pregnancy; these reasons include anxiety. [Smile]

There's more about that in this article: Chicken Soup for the Pregnancy Symptom Freakout's Soul
