Hi. This may sound like a stupid question but I need peace of mind. My boyfriend and I have been together for 10 months and we've never had sex. Last night he was at my house and I gave him a handjob, which we've done before. There was semen on my hand but it dried. About an hour later or maybe slightly more, my boyfriend left. By that time, my hand was completely dry. I washed my hands with soap and water to take out my contacts. Then I touched myself, but only briefly because once I remembered there had been semen on me I immediately stopped. Then I took a shower. I'm a 16 year old honors student with strict parents so basically getting pregnant would ruin my life. I know the sperm was probably all dead because it was dry, and any leftover would have been washed off, but I'm still terrified. So is there any way I could be pregnant?

Welcome to the boards, PrincessGloriana . [Smile]

before you posted this, were you able to read through this post at the top of the forum here and the links within it?

If not, can you do that first, then come back round if you didn't understand anything you read or none of that answered this question (which it all should, especially since our primary piece on pregnancy scares makes clear pregnancy risks don't exist from manual sex like handjobs)? Thanks!

Yes I read that but none of it specifically outlined my situation. The handjob isn't the issue, it's what happened after. I was concerned that any residual sperm that was on my hand could've gotten me pregnant.

Well, when we say that manual sex can't create a pregnancy, it includes situations like this.

In other words, a situation like this is NOT, as we talk about in the Pregnancy Scared? piece:
• direct genital-to-genital contact, or
• direct contact between your genitals and someone's ejaculate, which can only happen when someone ejaculates ON or inside you in that way.

To be as clear as possible, there's just no such thing as pregnancies from "residual sperm" on the hands.
