I've been on birth control for three years now, and have never had any problem. I'm going on vacation this weekend and want to delay my period for two days while I'm there. I'm just finishing a pack today - will I still be protected from pregnancy during this time if I start my next pack right away, taking two of the new pills before going on my four-day placebo break in order to get my period once I get home?

Here's the scoop on this:

1) We don't have ANY study, at all, on people using pills to supress periods who are under 18, so for those who are, I just don't personally advise doing this, since we can't know if there are health risks associated with it yet or not.

2) If you are going to do this, what you need to do is take active pill packs back to back, but you have to take the WHOLE next pack -- and then take your placebo week when you get to the end of that whole three weeks of active pills -- not just some of it, if you want that next pack to be effective as birth control for you. You can't cut in the middle of active pills like that without messing up your pills effectiveness.
