I just started using the Pill on Tuesday. My partner and I have been using condoms until it kicks in. Even though we have been using lube, checking quality, etc it still broke. Now, the nurse who gave me the Pill gave me a pack of Emergency Contraception so I'm not concerned about pregnancy scare. I will be able to take it within 2 days. I'm just curious about what I would do with my birth control?

Do I just continue taking it as I normally would along with the EC? or take the EC and stop the Pill until next tuesday (or some other date) and start again?

I also took another EC last Monday. I'm not sure if that might change anything.

I'm sorry if this info might be else where in the website. lol I'm just a little worried about taking so many hormones in such a short time.

Thank you! [Smile]

Just keep taking your pill as you normally would. You might have some side effects from the EC (and just starting the pill can come with side effects too) but there's no risk to your health.

It's pretty unusual for condoms to break when they're used with lube and within their expiration date - was there room left in the tip when it was put on?

Afterwards, we looked at the condoms article on this website to go over the steps we took. Neither of us could remember if space was left. I have a feeling we didn't because the tip completely tore off. I never experienced that happening before.
