I often take baths to help with my fibromyalgia pain. Yesterday, I took a long bath (45 minutes), though I usually only take a 20-25 minute bath. My aunt told me that, because I use bath salts, I shouldn't soak in the tub for more than 20 minutes or so for the sake of vulvar health. Is she right? Can the bath salts irritate my vulva if I take too long of a bath?

HI Erica D,

It really depends what is in the bath salts and on your body. If you haven't experienced any vulvar irritation, then it's likely that what you're doing is okay for your body.

I would suggest at least using bath salts that don't have synthetic fragrances or colours in them, but again your body is the best judge of things.
