Hello, My friend asked me if I could give her advice. She said her boyfriend and her were having dry sex. She said he was humping her vagina but they were both wearing underwear and pants. I told her she didn't have to worry about any risks because of there being clothing. Did I tell her the right thing? She said her period is 3 days late and she's really nervous. Could I please get some reassurance weather I gave her the right advice and also why it is or isn't possible. Thank you!

Hi pink35,

That is correct.

Here's some information on how pregnancy does and doesn't happen that you can go through, and also share with your friend.

Also, there are plenty of reasons besides pregnancy (especially if pregnancy isn't even a possibility) why someone's period might be later than they expect it to be. Here's some information on that:

If this doesn't feel like something you can explain to her, rather than us trying to basically teach you to be her teacher, how about we cut out the middleman, and you just refer her to us directly, either to those links and/or to the boards?

I told her it is because clothing isn't a viable place for the sperm to be. is that correct? and I will tell her to read the boards and links.

Well, sperm cells can certainly be on clothing, but through clothing presents a barrier that makes pregnancy a non-issue.

But really, I'd say it'll probably work best, since it sounds like she's not believing you, to just send her directly to the source instead of trying to do this secondhand. [Smile]
