I am on my third month of the contraceptive pill. My period had started with spotting of brown blood 2 days into my pill free week previously, and then turned to a normal period with red blood on day 4. This month, my period only started on day 4, with a lot of dark brown discharge. It's continuing now (day 6) but a lot of the blood is still dark brown. Some of it is red, but it seems to also be brown. Is this normal? It's also slightly lighter than normal, but I'd chalked that up to the birth control and also stress. I have been using condoms as well as the pill, so I don't think there's any big pregnancy risk, but I'm still not fully sure what's going on

Yep, totally normal. Withdrawal bleeds won't look the exact same way every time. Also, you're still pretty new to the pill, so some wonkiness with bleeding is to be expected.
