Hello! I have been on Nuvaring for close to a year now and love it. I was reading an article that said oil based lubricants can decrease its effectiveness. My boyfriend and I use Trojan lubricated condoms every time we have sex. I'm assuming that the lube on them is water or silicone based, because if not it could harm the condom. I've tried checking trojan's website as well as the box and I can't quite figure it out. So in short, is the lube on our condoms making my ring less effective? Thanks for any help.

Lubricated condoms do indeed use water-based lubricant, as it would destroy the material of the condom otherwise, as you said [Smile] If you want to be extra sure, you could always get un-lubricated condoms and use only lube you bought yourself and that you know for sure is water-based (you should be using extra lube with condoms, anyway).
