Can your general practitioner do a full std/sti screening? I know you have to ask but when I go in and ask for the tests, will they be able to do it? Or does like your gyno have to do those tests?

It depends on what your general practitioner does and doesn't do. In other words, some GPs can and do, others don't. To find out the spiel with yours, you just call their office up and ask before you make an appointment (rather than making an appointment and asking for testing then).

I see. That makes sense. Well I already have a regular check up scheduled tomorrow (needed to do that regardless of std testing) so would it be okay to ask for it when Im there tomorrow?

Well, it's certainly always fine to ask, I'd just not figure it's a given, that's all.

I'd also be aware that a full panel involves a visual and bimanual exam of your genitals. Some folks are comfy with that with any kind of healthcare provider, some aren't, so what you ask that doctor for should take that into consideration if that's an issue for you.
