Would it be okay to receive shallow penetration (as in, the glans of the penis or fingering) and/or oral 3 days after an exploratory surgery? I'm not in nearly as much pain.

Edit: Also, I would like to actually _get an answer_ this time. The only other time I posted on this site, I was ignored.

What directions did your doctor give you for the recovery period? If they did not give you specific instructions, I'd call back and ask. They're the person who can give you the best answer.

(I am sorry you did not receive an answer last time. We try to answer every question as soon as we can. However, we are all volunteers and we are not here 24 hours as we also have day-jobs, so occasionally something gets lost in the shuffle. You can absolutely bump up a post if it's gone unanswered for a couple of days.)

They told me to wait two weeks to douche, use a tampon, or have intercourse. But I'm talking about very shallow penetration. Would it still apply?
I was thinking fingering and oral wouldn't necessarily do any harm. But I'm not a professional. [Razz]

If they advised you to hold off on inserting anything for two weeks, then I'd say it's probably a good idea to stick to that. After all, this is ultimately about your health, and if you end up prolonging the healing process, you'll only have to hold off on intercourse longer.

Why not use that time to explore some other kinds of sex? There's a whole lot more you can do besides intercourse, after all. Check it out: What's Sex?

Just FYI, you always want to hold off on genital sex after any genital surgery for as long as your healthcare provider says to. It is just WAY to easy to wind up with even something usually benign, like a bacterial infection, that can out your health at serious risk after surgery.

So, most typically, ANY kind of genital sex would not be suggested so soon after a genital surgery. But if in doubt or unsure, you can always call back your healthcare provider and ask for clarification.
