I have extreme intense itching right by my vaginal opening. The soonest appointment I could get with my doctor is for tuesday.

What can I do to soothe it in the meantime? I haven't been able to work or sleep because it is so distracting.

So far I've tried ice & vagasil creme, with little relief. I don't have a bathtub so I can't do an oatmeal bath. Other suggestions? Does plain yogurt (applied topically) help? Or an oral antihistamine? Should I not eat any carbohydrates for a few days? I'm desperate and will try anything!

Plain yogurt might help. If nothing else, it isn't known to hurt, and the coolness of it alone can be very soothing.

Another option that might not help but isn't likely to hurt is plain aloe vera gel -- no additives, which can be tough to find unless you have an aloe plant at home, in which case it's easy.

Also, loose undergarments and pants made out of natural fibers: tight clothing there or things made of polyesters and such can make things feel worse.
