So, today I got my period. Fabulous [Smile] So I go to get my diva cup out of its nifty little pouch in my medicine cabinet...but it's not there. Yikes. That's when I backtrack and realize that, in all the hussle and bussle of moving into a new apartment, I had put it to soak in a pot of water on the stove, but completely forgot to start it to boil...and that was a month ago! So, now the cup is...uhm...icky. And it looks like the pot began to rust as well. I rinsed the cup off under hot water, slimy but otherwise okay, and now I'm not sure what the protocol is. As of now, I think my pot's ruined. And, poor college student that I am, I only have one pot. [Razz] How should I cleanse it (I obviously don't want to insert it without it being thoroughly clean). I also have a microwave if using that is possible, sans pot. [Smile] ) Thanks!

Get thee to a goodwill or some other thrift store. Even the grocery store should have at least one super cheap pot.

Buy another pot.

You need to boil the divacup for at least 5 minutes.

Hey folks, my name is Andrew and I was a mod here for awhile a couple years ago. I'll be here for a couple weeks while Heather is out and the site is even more short-staffed than usual

I mean, I'd wash it with some antibacterial soap *first* to get the, uh, excess slime off. But boiling it will sanitize it.

It's made of silicon so, like silicon sex toys, boiling it is how to sanitize it.
