I've got 2 questions:

I'm on the antibiotic Levaquin for five days, including today. Does this medication interfere with my birth control pills (Tri Ortho)?

And I'm about to be on my period (placebo pills start Wednesday), and I won't be having sex. How long after I stop taking Levaquin (if it IS interfering) is it okay to have sex without a backup?

Thanks so much!!!

Hi Taxxy,

From what I can find, Levaquin does not seem to interact with BC pills. If you're done taking the antibiotics before you start your next pack of pills, you can rely on the protection as you normally would.

If you want to double check or know for sure, you can always call your prescribing physician or your pharmacist too.

Hope this helps!
