About a week ago my partner and I tried manual sex for the first time. Since things went fine, we decided to try it again yesterday. However, this time he was a lot rougher when trying to stimulate my clitoris. Today I'm experiencing some clitoral pain. Things look normal (ie no sudden appearance of blisters or sores) but my clitoris is a little swollen and painful when touched. I have virtually no experience with things like this, so the latent pain is a little alarming to me. Is clitoral pain after manual sex normal, or is it a sign of something more ominous?
Thanks so much for your time, Alice

There are more sensory nerve endings in the clitoris than in any other part of the male or female body. On top of that, it's pretty delicate tissue.
So, for sure, especially if you or a partner overdo it, don't use lube as needed, or are just too rough, some soreness is common.
