Well I know my BC pills can lower a girl's period to just three days. It doesn't do this with me, however. It just lowers it to about five days. I also know that each pill is going to react slightly differently for each person who takes it. All that I was wondering is, since it does not lower my period to just three days, does this mean the medicine isn't working to its full potential and is not going to protect me from pregnancy in the percentage that is should?

No. Women react different to different prescriptions of the birth control pill. Having a slightly longer period does not mean the pill not protecting you from pregnancy.
