Do you only get infected when you have sexual contact with those infected? Or can you contract STD from someone who is clean from it? And, is it possible to 'produce' this disease by yourself? I heard from a friend that STDs actually originated from those who indulge in anal sex. Is it true?

You can only ACQUIRE HIV from someone who already has it. It does not emerge spontaneously from nothing.

HIV can be spread many ways. It doesn't come from anal sex. It's just happens to be one of the ways it spread among a large group of people. You can catch HIV from infected vaginal fluid or semen during sex. It can be spread by infected blood during bad tattoos, injection drug use. Mothers can spread it to their babies during breastfeeding if they have HIV.
