I have only been on the pill for 16 days. I have also been using condoms, because I know it is not completely effective until about a month has passed. Yesterday I had sex and the (spermicidal) condom broke, but he pulled out immediately. I'm also on my period (have been since I started the pill). Can I be pregnant?

while Scarleteen errs on the side of caution and recommends using a barrier method with the pill for the first month, hormonal birth control can be effective as soon as the first or seventh day you've begun taking it, depending on when you started it and provided that you've been taking it correctly. If you've been taking the pill exactly as directed, your risk of pregnancy here is very low- continue to take your pill as you normally would.
Welcome to Scarleteen- I hope this has helped.
