That depends on whether everyone involved is okay with what's going on, if there's a lot of good communication and respect, and safe sex practises are followed.

but for the most part, if you are young, inexperienced and especially if you are not sure about what you want or how to handle your emotions, a threesome can get you into a world of trouble.

For most of the users on this board, I'd have to say a threesome is a bad idea. EVERYBODY involved has to be on a very clear level of understanding, and polyamory can wreak havoc on a relationship that wasn't built to support that kind of dynamic. jealousy does some seriously wacked things to the human psyche.
