Condoms, actually, with perfect use, are around 98% effective.

So, they're actually very relible, it's just vital that you use them properly: good quality, put on right, and always used with extra lubricant. most of all: that they are used every time, without fail.

The BIGGEST reason for condom failures is that they are not used at all, or not used for genital contact.

So, if you're just looking for over the counter? That's the most effective method there is.

If by non-rescprtion, you just mean non-hormonal, you can also ask your GYN or GP about toher barrier methods, like diaphragms and cervical caps.

Your other option is a diaphragm, but even then, it needs to be fitted by a doctor.

Condoms are very reliable! You simply need to use them properly, with plenty of extra lubrication. [Smile]
