Hi, my name is Tina. Today I went to a gynocologist for a Pap Smear to get on birth control, and afterward the nurse practitioner told me I might have what is called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I broke down into tears, and for awhile I was quite upset. Now that I am more calm about the situation, I would like to know as much as I can about the condition, for my doctor left me with little details (I am scheduled for blood work tomorrow). I was hoping maybe someone could give me some mroe info. Thanks for your help, in advance.

We've had a few topics about PCOS on the boards lately. Here's what seems like the best and most current one, and feel free to post any questions you might have right in there: http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/001093.html This one has a lot of links to other sites with more information on PCOS, and some replies by people with PCOS.
