You heard correctly: I'm curious about Transgender people. I personally think they're absolutely amazing - they give me insight into something I never grew up learning, and I just can't hide my attractions toward them anymore for this reason.

What is it like?

Hey, Melli.

have you yet read the threads on the board from people who are trans gender?

I ask because reading what trans gender people have already written about themselves, and really, for themselves, is a much better place to start when it comes to these kind of questions and curiosities.

It can get especially iffy, as you might know from your own gender, yourself, when someone is asking you to talk about yourself because they're attracted to a member of a group your part of. It can feel objectifying, even if that isn't the person who's asking's intent.

Why don't you start by looking at those threads? I'd also be happy to suggest some other websites and books for you, if you'd like.

HI Melli,

I see you posted about this again in another thread. I'd encourage you to do some reading for yourself. As Heather said, people can (understandably) feel objectified when asked to talk about themselves by someone who is openly admitting attraction towards them. It's caring and respectful to people to do our own learning, when possible.

There are several threads on the boards written by trans people. There are also a lot of books out there that make informative reading. I'd be happy to recommend some titles if that would be helpful.
