Does anyone here have IBS? I was wondering what the symptoms you've experienced were. I believe i may have it because my stolls are either watery or very hard. I was also wondering if ibs can develop/start at a certain age, or if a person has it for a lifetime. thanks!

(This really isn't an emergency or a crisis. Furthermore, Emergencies and Crises is an area where only staff and volunteers are allowed to reply - I'll have someone move this so you get more responses. In the future, please make sure you start new topics in the appropriate forums. Thanks!)

Off to General Health and Nutrition. We do have a few threads about IBS so you might turn up something useful if you do a board search.

This is an excellent page on IBS:

It can develop at any age, and you can have it lifelong, but most people with IBS won't have to deal with it all their lives just by making some really simple lifestyle changes, such as adding extra fiber to the diet, avoiding common food triggers, and managing stess.

But by all means, talk to your doctor. You could also have a food allergy, for instance, or a problem with constipation.
