Hey, So I've had a cold for about 2 weeks (or liek a week and a half) and i never really had a runny nose or anything like that, it was just a lot of mucus in my throat and a general crappy feeling and then it became a cough with a little less mucus in the throat (but still a lot) and no crappy feeling. I have two questions:
1) I'm in Footloose and we open this thursday so im worried about still being sick, which would be bad because i sing a LOT of solos... I have been drinking a lot of tea and lemons and honey, i've also been gargling with salt water, does anyone know of anything i could do to get rid of the mucus? even if its a quick fix for right before i go onstage?
2) My director was like "if your coughing up anything colored you need to go to a doctor and get antibiotics because its bacterial".... my question is, what qualifies as colored? cuz i mean i always thought mucus was greenish/yellowish and that was normal. so should i only be worried if its like, turquoise? thanks!!

Because you've had this cold for over a week, i'd say you need to see the doctor anyways.

As for the mucous, 'normal' colours vary from clear-white to slightly yellow. Darker yellow, green, red (blood) ... or basically anything that isn't clear-white needs to be looked into.

So, get to the doctor. Hopefully s/he can give you something to make you feel better in time for your play.

cut out all dairy from now untill the show. it will cut down on the mucus. take lots of vitimin-C. and see a dr to make sure that its really cleared up before the show
