I was just wondering how bad it was to store birth control pills (Yasmin) outside of the recommended storage temperature. The other day, I had to put my pill packet in my handbag, as I was going out in the evening. It was quite a hot day, but I was not out in the sun for more than ten-fifteen minutes. Would this damage the pill's effectiveness?

Oops. I meant ten-fifteen minutes at a time*. I was in the sun a few times that day.

Hi Aj2234!

When it comes to sun or heat exposure, your pharmacist is the best person to answer this kind of questions, as they have all the specifics of every medicine.

You are not saying how hot was the temperature, so I can not know, but again, asking your pharmacist is a good thing you can always do. [Smile]

Well, in my opinion you didn't expose the pills directly to the sun or heat for a long time, but again, your pharmacist is the best person to answer this kind of questions, because they have all the information and that's exactly what they are for. [Smile]
