I'm on the BC pill Yasmin currently, and never had any issues (protection wise; apart from cramps, I'm all good!)
My only problem right now is that while my partner and I usually double up using condoms and the pill, we had a condom slip the other day and it's left me panicked. I know my pill covers us (I take it at 9am every morning on the dot. Without fail. I have OCD so it helps me to remember) but I began antibiotics today for a UTI, and therein lies the problem- my pill is null and void for 2 weeks!

So I was wondering how I could possibly double up the condom now? I researched spermicides after seeing them on articles here, but I can't use them- they can cause UTIs and since this is the second one I've had in 23 days, I don't want to make it any worse.

Would you have any recommendations? I don't really love the idea of something being inserted into me, but I'd do it if I had to! Better safe than sorry.

I'm no expert by any means, but you could always use a male condom and withdrawal (of course, sometimes it might be hard to remember to not ejaculate and hold the condom while pulling out); and I believe those two methods have good effectiveness ratings. The "Buddy System" article here (go to the "Repro Depot" link at the top of any page here to find the article) has list of effectiveness ratings for backing up your birth control with a second method; and effectiveness ratings for using one method alone. Take care, and I hope you feel better soon!
