I was suppose to take out NR on July 1st and I usually do it about 8pm but I took it out earlier in the day and then was suppose to reinsert NR on the 8th but forgot and inserted it this morning so a little more than a day late. We had unprotected sex sunday and monday. I know there is always a chance of becoming pregnant but by inserting a day or so late after having withdrawal bleed does that make the chances low? When you look this stuff up everyone is like see when you ovulate but technically if your on birth control you do not ovulate, I thought. So if you are not having a real period can you really assume that you would ovulate the 14 days after a withdrawal bleed?

Actually, I'm afraid that missing the first day of a pill, ring or patch after the placebo period often presents the highest risk of BC failure in terms of any possible day you could miss or use late.

That doesn't mean it will happen, mind. But since it does pose a high risk of that happening, this is a situation where considering emergency contraception makes a lot of sense.

And you can't make predictions about when and if ovulation will happen with mistakes using hormonal BC: if and when it happens, it tends to be pretty random.
