I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I searched every way to phrase I could think of and nothing came up in the search.
Anyway, I got the Implanon three weeks ago and last week I realized I had went from a 28c to a 28dd since it was inserted. This is really weird since I was on several pills, even the high dose Ovcon 50, and this never happened and this is the only side effect so far aside from a few hot flashes (doc said it was normal and to take some soy supplements. It helped a lot.) and some mild boob-acne. I was professionally fitted a few months ago and splurged on bras and now the cups are WAYYY to small. I was re-fitted and I'm now two sizes bigger. They also hurt very badly. The breasts feel very bruised and the nipples feel like they were sandpapered. I need new bras very badly but I don't want to spend the money if it will go away like the other side effects in a few weeks. 28 band size bras beyond AA's and A's are very hard to find and are very expensive when I do find them :\ I know they will probably go away if the implant is removed but I'm asking if it will go away while I have it in like most other side effects do.
The side effects of any form of hormonal birth control tend to be worst in the first few months, so if you feel like you can stand to wait a bit longer to see if this goes away, that's definitely an option. On the other hand, if you're very uncomfortable, there's nothing wrong with having the implant removed. Unfortunately, there's no way to predict how any one person's body will react to any medication, so this may go away, it may not.

I actually love the new breasts. They hurt pretty badly, but when I wear a tight sports bra it's not so bad. It doesn't bother me. I was just wondering if it's worth it to invest in new bras or wait it out unless they shrink back because 28 band bras are very expensive when you find them. I actually re-measured and I'm up another cup size since sunday to a 28E, so I'm now up to 3 cup sizes in three weeks! This is crazy! I'm loving the breasts, as painful as they are, but I need new bras!

Did your doctor say that they expected it to go away? That extreme swelling in such a short time plus the soreness both seem a little extreme, though as Karybu said, many side effects do subside after the first few months of a new birth control method.
