Hey all. I just started a new brand of birth control, took my first pill last night. I have been on another brand for about 3 or 4 months straight but wanted to switch. Any way, is it alright to have sex with out a condom on the first pill even though it is a new kind? If it helps I was still bleeding a little bit from my period.

Thank you.

Some degree of caution is always your better bet in matters like this. If you're switching from one combination pill to another, you should be clear of major conflict as long as there was no interruption in your pill-taking schedule.

To be on the safe side, though, you might want to use a backup method for at least 7 days.
