I'm having an issue with my GF and condom sizing. In the past we've just used 'regular' condoms, IE: Trojen-Enz Lubricated.

After sex I would have a ring at the base of my penis where the condom was 'grabbing'. It also caused pain during sex at times.

I tried using the Trojan Magnum condoms, but had the same effect.

Who makes, and where can I buy condoms that have a bit more width. I understand it should be snug, but it's at the point of leaving a red ring around my penis after sex and is painful at times.

Check out the wise words of Miz Scarlet:

quote:
Sarcasm aside, nearly ANY condom will allow for any length humanly possible. It's usually the ring-size at the base that's an issue for a few men.

However, in general, that's usually only the case with poorer quality condoms. As I've said before, in my experience, Trojans are the worst condoms on the market. Same goes double for no-name-brand condoms you find in gas stations or vending machines. Well-made condoms -- so long as they aren't cut *small* (japanese brands tend to be cut on the smaller side) will fit just fine.

And for the record, the width measurement of a Trojan Magnum is 55mm, a Trojan regular condom is 51mm wide. However, other "regular" cut brands I use are cut much wider than the Trojan regulars, even though they aren't sold as "larger" condoms, such as Durex High Sensation (53mm), Kimono (54mm), Crown (54mm) and the LifeStyles plain old lubricated (54mm).

Kudos to Trojan for yet another great marketing scam, especially since better brands "larger" condoms (like Maxx, measuring in at a generous 58mm) really ARE larger, and not only on a bell curve with their other styles, if you follow me.

So the first strategy to try is getting a brand other than Trojans. Many people report that Trojans seem to break more often than other brands, so you'll be doing yourself a favour in that respect too .

If that isn't enough to solve the problem, then you can try a brand like Maxx.

thanks for the quick reply.

Thing is, even after all the ones you listed, the magnum was the largest measured, and it still fit too tight. Where can I buy "Maxx"? I've never seen them in the local drug stores

I think you're missing Miz S's point, which is that it's ring size, not the size of the condom itself, which tends to be the issue. And it's only an issue with poor quality brands such as Trojans.

With better brands, it's much less likely to be a problem.

So try a brand other than Trojans before you jump to the conclusion that you need a specialist brand.

My issue is ring size. According to your post the Magnum was the largest measured, I've tried durex, and lifestyle condoms, all of which have given me ring issues. The magnum has also given me ring issues. Length isn't an issue, it's just the ring size.

You stated "Maxx" is larger then all the others in terms of ring size, where can this be purchased?

Edit

Trojan - 51mm - Too tight
Trojan magnum - 55mm too tight
Durex High Sensation - 53mm (tried original, too tight...regardless, it's smaller than a magnum, which was too tight)
Kimono -- never tried, but still smaller than the magnum, same for Crown
LifeStyles Original - 54mm, tried, too tight

I've tried the biggest of all the ones listed with measurements and it was too tight in ring. You said Maxx is even bigger, but where can I buy it

If you want to try the Maxx condoms, they can be purchased online from http://www.condoms.net/ and other internet condom shops.

Kimono makes the Maxx condoms. They are sold in regular drug stores (and I can even find them at my local supermarket) in the United States. Yes, this includes my really backwater hometown, so don't think 'cause i'm in an urban center right now that I can find "special" condoms.

and if i may suggest some online condom retailers of my own:
