Since often enough, other sex educators from other places pop in here, thought this might be a good place to share some of our favourite reference books with users who might want to look up some things of their own at the library, or get started in creating a health reference collection for themselves.
I have shelves full of books, but the ones that most often live right on my desk without ever making it back to the shelves are:
• Contraceptive Technology and the Pocket Guide for Managing Contraception (Robert A. Hatcher) • Our Bodies, Ourselves (Boston Women's health Collective) • The Merck Manual • Hygieia (Jeannine Parvati) • Prescription for Nutritional healing (Phyllis A. Balch) • Practical Gynecology (Janice Ryden and Paul D. Blumenthal) • The Teen Health Book (Ralph Lopez)

Just to add two to the list, I keep a copy of the CDC STD Treatment guidelines handy. You can order their publications and they will send them to you free of charge. Or you can d/l the PDF
