Hello,

I am taking a Womens Studies class this semester, and I'm required (when the next issue comes out) to read BITCH magazine and write a review on it. I know this isnt sexual literacy (or maybe it could be I really have no idea! ) I also know from my professor that it is a feminist magazine, but i was curious to know if anyone here has ever read the mag? I had never heard of it, so i was just curious to know what people thought of it, and if anyone else had heard of it! Thanks so much!

Bitch is a fantastic publication, run by fantastic people (and the editor has donated here, and I there, so you know it's all good).

You can order issues and check out anartcile or two online right here: http://www.bitchmagazine.com

I second Miz Scarlet about BITCH magazine-- I started reading it a few months ago and am hooked; the articles interesting, entertaining, and thought-provoking.

Another feminist magazine I recommend is ROCKRGRL, one I've read for a few years now, if you're interested in music-- oblivously they feature rock musicians but other genres are also well-represented. And as someone who's fed up with the mainstream music industry's portrayl and pigeon-holeing of female musicians, I find it a welcome breath of fresh air. http://www.rockrgrl.com/

(For example, there is a similar-themed magazine called Women Who Rock that is more widely distributed but quite criticized for enforcing, rather than breaking, stereotypes-- I think I remember reading a review in BITCH about it once actually...)

Happy Reading!
