I've been doing some online research about mosquitoes and how to treat mosquito bites. I've recently gotten bitten really badly; and I'm currently doing only home remedy-like solutions: hot showers, applying ice packs to the affected areas. Some of them are swelling - which isn't abnormal for me - but I'm already trying to figure out other ways to make the swelling go down. I don't really care about the itchiness - they don't itch that much - it's moreso me wanting to decrease the redness. Is rubbing alcohol a safe thing to use on the affected areas (arms, legs, back)? I read topical fluids like this do not affect oral contraceptives - I was just wondering if they were safe to use on the skin. I didn't use them for pimples - just for when I got my ears pierced years ago - so I don't have much experience with rubbing alcohol.

Thank you! (And I apologize for my outpour of posts.)

Rubbing alcohol is fine to use on the skin so long as you don't have a fever, because there's some links to alcohol poisoning through the skin at those times. But otherwise it's totally okay to use [Smile]

Thank you so much! I have bites on my legs and upper shoulders/back, and though they appear to be going away, they're starting to itch like crazy. I'll definitely put some rubbing alcohol on them! Thank you for your help! [Smile]
