Hi!

Does anyone suspect they have ever experienced an anovulatory cycle? I think I am having one right now. I usually track my periods very carefully. This month, I had NO cervical mucus that is common when I ovulate. Instead, I have had on and off spotting for over a week. This happened before, and my dr coughed it up to hormones. I was just wondering what everyone else's experiences were without ovulation. FYI I'm not on oral contraceptives. When I try to find specific info on spotingt/anovulatory cycles, but most websites are vague and say something along the lines of bleeding between periods or irregular cycles. Thanks so much!

I'm still looking for information on this, but what I've learned is that this does happen to women occasionally, particularly in adolescence or perimenopause.

Occasional anovulatory cycles are nothing to be concerned about.

Spotting between periods, or just having a wonky cycle in general every once in a while, is also not unusual.

Ok now I am thinking this is just a super weird cycle. I can't tell if I am spotting or having a super light period. The blood comes and goes throughout the day, but is definitely bright red and has almost filled a thin pantyliner pad today. What is the difference between spotting and a "period"? This just seems like an odd cycle for me. Its been 23 days since the start of my last period, and my cycles have been hanging around 30 to 33 days in length
