I apologize if this question has been answered before, but I'm just curious. My boyfriend and I have been sexually active for around three months now (always protected, so I don't get fussed at XD) and I've noticed that when we are able to have relations more often, it affects my period. One month, my period was four days long and very light, with no cramps. Usually I have a medium-heavy flow, bad cramps, significant pms, and it's 5-6 days. Considering the difference between my periods during months when we can have significant alone time and when we don't really have any, just wondering about how normal that is. Also, kinda curious if anyone else has ever noticed such a difference?

I have definitely noticed this when I masturbate more during my period. I don't know all the details of why that is, but it has to do with the uterine contractions sometimes associated with orgasm helping the menses to move out of your body.
This site: http://www.epigee.org/menstruation/sex.html gives an explanation that an orgasm allows for the consumption of excess of the hormone prostagladin, which causes the uterus to contract on its own for the purpose of expelling menses during your period. And in excess, those nasty cramps.

cool, thanks. I was just curious, since my periods aren't normally light either and they tend to be lighter when I get to spend more time with him. Maybe it's also the reduction in stress too lol
