im not sure if my vaginal discharge is normal. it always comes out as being thick and it always has a certain unpleasant stentch to it. i keep myself very clean and i dont know why this is happening. i dont experience any pain or itchyness. ive never had sex before and i often get embarassed when my boyfriend fingers me because of the smell. is it normal for all discharge to have a distinct smell?

Discharge will have an odor to it, it can smell faintly like sweat or urine (because of it's proximity to the urethra) or salt, but it should not have a strong odor. If it does, even without itchiness or pain, it's possible to have an infection. Getting checked out by a doctor is a good plan, since infections can spread and cause other unpleasantness. The doctor can give you a treatment to help with the infection if you have one.
Infections can happen in spite of (and sometimes because of, due to overwashing or harsh soaps, or douching) personal cleanliness, so it's nothing to be ashamed of.
