Has anyone else heard of this stuff? It's essentially carbonated juice, with no suger or psuedo-sugars added. It tastes really good.

Anyways, I've heard sodas can leech your calcium from your bones, and I was wondering whether that was caused by the carbonation itself or other chemicals in the soda. I mean, is this stuff really that much better than sprite?

Everything's okay in moderation. So, have one, maybe two, and it's okay. It being your sole source of liquid for a day probably isn't a good idea.

According to WebMD,
quote:
Researchers from the Osteoporosis Research Center at Creighton University found that excess urinary excretion of calcium occurred only when the carbonated beverages consumed contained caffeine.

Thanks so much for the info on soda! And don't worry about me, I DO get plenty of other liquids! I'm a water fan. [Wink] (although recently I do seem to have developed a weakness for flavored waters and Crystal Light)

I've gotta question Creighton's results because it's so inconsistent with the literature. Pretty much all the previous literature has said that phosporic acid is what leeches calcium from bone. I'll take he majority report on this one and just say that folks are much better off taking calcium supplements and limiting soda.
