It's really annoying. I havent taken a pill in my life and I needed to take one as a perscription from my doctor, so I got some water and when I tried it wouldn't. I tried tilting my head, washing it down nothing! I can't swallow pills! How can I?

Believe me, do I understand! Currently I'm taking 18 pills every day, and it doesn't matter how small the pill is, I tense up and it gets stuck every single time if I try to just swallow with water.
One thing I find really useful, since for me it's just an issue of mind over matter, is to chew up a mouthful of food, stick the pill into the middle of the blob, and swallow that. It's gross and not exactly attractive to do in public, but I find it much easier than trying to get all those pills down simply with water.
Also, depending on your medication, you may be able to crush your pills into a soft food such as applesauce. That's one to ask your doctor or pharmacist about though, because the coatings on some pills are crucial to their effectiveness.

I used to have a big problem with that as well. One thing I've found useful is swallowing the pill with juice or milk; anything that's "thicker" than water. It kind of distracts me from the pill, and it seems much easier.
Another trick is to place the pill at the back of your tongue, so that when you swallow, it's already almost done. I found that also helped me.
