Ok this is kind of a gross topic, but how do you get rid of ingrown hairs? I mean, I always get them! ALWAYS! I hate it so much. I'm too chicken to wax, so I just shave eh hem..."down there" LOL. Are there any good products I can use that make the little red bumps go away?

The best way I've found is to make sure you exfoliate a lot, and you can find exfoliaters by the body washes at your grocery store. Be gentle though, as it's a tender area and you don't want to rub it raw. Exfoliating will slough off the dead skin cells, and you'll be left soft and silky. And for the occasional ingrown hairs I get, I just take a pair of tweezers to 'em.

a loofah is a good thing. you might want to break it in before using it in on your bikini line first.

I also buy exfoliating soap at Bath and Body Works. They have some nice stuff. but really, almost anything will do.

but be careful with the ingrowns. it's best to have them lanced by a docotr, otherwise you might get infections from the broken skin if you try to pull out the hairs yourself.

I also find that along with exfoliating (I use those little mesh gloves you can get at the Body Shop along with a favorite soap or cleansing gel), that shaving with the growth (instead of against it) may not leave you with the smoothest shave, but it reduces the ingrown hairs. Very worth it in my opnion.

Thanks guys, for all your help. I've tried a loofa, and exfoliating stuff from Bath & Body works too! But it doesn't seem to help me. So I think I will just have to wax. *ouch!* it can't be that bad.

a product called "tend skin" works wonders on ingrown hairs. I believe you can purchase it at beauty.com.

It's a lifesaver!

Honestly I just started waxing, and it's not that bad, it only stings for a second, but try Nads and have a friend. Hot wax is no fun unless done by a professional, which is expensive.
